Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil admits to making blunders in each session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a regular basis.
