No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the negative comments from others annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated a number of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He knows he makes errors in each session of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
