NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning experience and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
