NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover anything he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an undying passion for poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
