No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making errors every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
