NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from others kill his dream of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.

He began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching period and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
