No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an undying love for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
