No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker player on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed many of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing love for poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is very abashed about his success. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
