No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an undying love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.
Even though Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
