No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about the game. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
