No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the detrimental feedback from other people kill his goal of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
